Earning PDUs through Chapter Activities

PMP members need to earn 60 PDUs every 3-year cycle. The PMI Continuing Certification Requirement is described here.

PDUs (Professional Development Units) can be earned by PMP-certified members of the Chapter through the following methods:

Attending Chapter Dinner Presentations

One (1) PDU is earned for every dinner presentation attended. These presentations count as Category 4 activities. When completing the Activity Reporting Form for PMI, it will be necessary to supply the Program Number. Program Numbers are found in the event notices for a given event.

Attending Chapter Courses

PDU's are earned for every course attended. These courses count as Category 4 activities. When completing the Activity Reporting Form for PMI, it will be necessary to supply the Program Number. Program Numbers are found in the event notices for a given course.

Being a Speaker at a Chapter Dinner Presentation

Speakers on a project management topic at PMI Chapter meetings earn Five (5) PDUs for each presentation given. These presentations count as Category 2D activities.

Serving on the Board of Directors of the Chapter

Serving as an officer or committee member for a Chapter earns Ten (10) PDUs per calendar year (assuming twelve months of participation). This involvement would qualify as a Category 5 activity.

Volunteering on a committee for the Chapter

Depending on the duration of the voluntary service, this will earn up to Five (5) PDUs per calendar year. This involvement would qualify as a Category 5 activity.
