Finance for Project Managers
The PMI Lakeshore Chapter is pleased to announce our second Saturday Continuing Education presentation - Finance for Project Managers. Four PDUs can be claimed by certified PMPs for attending this presentation.
Presentation Abstract
The purpose of this session is to discuss financial management in project management and in personal finance.
We will discuss project budgeting and cost management throughout the project lifecycle. We will then touch on how corporations use financial vehicles to control their global projects risks. We will conclude with discussing financial vehicles available to all of us to manage our own finances.
By the end of the session you will be able to:
- Explain how financial considerations are applied to strategic planning and project initiation
- Develop a project budget and spending plan
- Design a project budget tracking tool for your projects
- Explain the importance of cost tracking to measure the health of a project
- Explain the importance of foreign currency exchange rate fluctuations for international business
- Explain the personal finance vehicles such as stocks, options, currencies and the risks associated with them
Speaker - Anupam Sharma, PMP
Anupam has been managing projects, providing project management coaching, and strategic planning services for over 15 years. He has also facilitated the development and implementation of PM methodologies for a number of clients. Anupam has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 1994.
