President's MessageOn March 8, 2004 the PMI Lakeshore Chapter held its Annual General Meeting. The minutes of the meeting describe the business conducted. This included the election of the 2004 Board of Directors. I am honored to be elected as President of the Chapter and am pleased to introduce to you the Board of Directors for 2004. Returning to the Board for a second term are Joseph Zielinski, Director of Professional Development, and Kiron Bondale, Director of Communications. John Gaston has moved into the role of Past-President after serving 2 terms as President of the Chapter. The new additions to the Board are Angello Baratta, Director at Large, David Brady, Director of Programs, John Beamish, Director of Membership, and Gillian Prieur, Secretary/Treasurer. Departing the Board after excellent contributions in 2004 are Pappur Shankar, Ravi Chari and Diana Miret. I thank them for their dedication and hard work. As a founding member of the Chapter from 1999, I am pleased to say we have made great strides in growing our membership, providing regular professional development to our members and improving our infrastructure. But that is not enough - we need to reach a level of maturity to provide tangible benefits to the membership, enhance our reputation and credibility as a leader in project management activities and above all raise our profile to be noticed as a chapter of excellence. We need to learn from our more mature regional chapters, form close affiliations with other professional groups, attract industry leaders to participate in our activities and create an environment of excitement. On this note, I would like to take this opportunity to reach out to our chapter members to volunteer their time and experience and extend their cooperation to the Board to achieve these ambitious goals. Sincerely, Ram Sriram, CMC PMP
