President's Message2006 - Spring UpdateOn March 13th, 2006 the PMI Lakeshore Chapter held its Annual General Meeting. The minutes of the meeting describe the business conducted. This included the election of the 2006 Board of Directors. The new Board met on March 22nd 2006 to elect the Chapter officers for the 2006-2007 Chapter year. I am honoured to be President of the Chapter and am pleased to introduce to you the Board of Directors and the Chapter officers for this upcoming Chapter year. Gillian Prieur, Dave Freeman, Margaret Krynicki, Micha Lauff and Angelo Baratta have been elected as directors for the upcoming year. Along with the returning directors -Joseph Zielinski, Ram Sriram, Kiron D. Bondale, Richard Birchall & Sudesh Kothare, they will form the PMI Lakeshore Chapter's Board of Directors. Angelo Baratta will be the Senior VP Operations, with Sudesh Kothare returning as the Treasurer and Richard Birchall continuing as the Secretary. Ram Sriram will return for another term as Past-President and Chairperson of the Board. Departing the Board after excellent contributions in the last Chapter year are Gale Ryckman, John Beamish & John Gaston. I thank them for their dedication, hard work and their contribution to the Chapter and the PM community at large. Last year was a transition year to the new governance organization model for the Chapter and it was very successful due to the leadership of our Past President Ram Sriram and the hard work of the Board and volunteers. This year, we will continue on the same path to success, investigate new products and services for our members, and build on the foundation established in previous years. The Board will continue to focus on strategic issues and the Vice-Presidents and Assistant Vice-Presidents of Functional Area Committees will form the core of the operations organization, while team volunteers will help maintain operational effectiveness and implement projects. I would like to reach out to our members to request them to volunteer for the Chapter and help us continue our journey to maturity. We are looking to fill the vacant positions for various Functional Area Committees and will be contacting interested volunteers shortly. Stay tuned, as it will be a very exciting year! Sincerely, |
