President's Message2007 - Spring UpdateOn March 12th, 2007 the PMI Lakeshore Chapter held its Annual General Meeting. This included the election of the 2007 Board of Directors. The new Board met on March 24th 2007 to elect the Chapter officers for the 2007-2008 Chapter year. I am honoured to be President of the Chapter and am pleased to introduce to you the Board of Directors and the Chapter officers for this upcoming Chapter year. Ian MacGregor has been elected as director for the upcoming year. Along with the returning directors -Joseph Zielinski, Gillian Prieur, Dave Freeman, Margaret Krynicki, Kiron D. Bondale, Richard Birchall, Angelo Baratta & Sudesh Kothare, they will form the PMI Lakeshore Chapter's Board of Directors. Sudesh Kothare will be the Senior VP Operations, with Dave Freeman elected to the position of Treasurer and Richard Birchall continuing as the Secretary. Joseph Zelinski will serve as the Past-President and Chairperson of the Board. Departing the Board after superb contributions is Ram Sriram who will no doubt continue to serve the chapter in alternative ways. I thank him on behalf of all of us for setting the bar for volunteerism through his hard work, dedication, and contribution to the Chapter and the PM community at large. Last year was our second year operating under the new governance organization model for the Chapter. We continue to evolve the model so we can increase the contribution the chapter makes to its members. However, adjusting to the new structure has absorbed much of the board’s time. This year, we will move forward refining our current services while actively investigating new services and products for our members. The Board will continue to focus on strategic issues and the Vice-Presidents and Assistant Vice-Presidents of Functional Area Committees will form the core of the operations organization, while team volunteers will help maintain operational effectiveness and implement projects. I would like to reach out to our members to request them to volunteer for the Chapter and help us continue our journey to maturity. We are looking to fill the vacant positions for various Functional Area Committees and will be contacting interested volunteers shortly. Together forward for an exciting year! Sincerely, |
