President's Message

2004 - Summer Update

Over the past few months, since taking over in March 2004, my colleagues and I on the Board of Executives for the PMI Lakeshore Chapter have been extremely busy taking care of day-to-day operations and planning for the future.

We have, for the first time, developed a strategic plan aimed at attaining Chapter maturity and catering to the unprecedented growth in our membership. Based on our vision and the goals identified in my earlier message we have identified three different strategies to be implemented over the next three years.

They are:

  • Enhance the current environment
  • Re-design to cater to growth and maturity
  • Implement the re-designed environment

Planning is just one small step, but implementation of the strategy is a major program that has to be carefully executed with the help of the membership. To help us in this endeavor, we would like to invite volunteers from our Chapter to participate in turning our vision into reality.

We have established an ambitious portfolio of projects aimed at improvements in the following areas:

  • Infrastructure - website
  • Customer care – improved delivery methods
  • Finance – improved reporting and budgeting
  • Organizational structure – new structure
  • Professional Development – new courses (PMP & other)
  • Programs - anniversary event
  • Continuous Improvement - process documentation

I am also pleased to inform you, that the PMI Lakeshore Chapter has achieved a major milestone - 5 years of operation as a PMI chapter. This year is our five-year anniversary and we are looking forward to celebrate it in early December 2004.

So, let's enjoy the summer, have fun and implement our initiatives!

Sincerely,

Ram Sriram, CMC PMP
