President's Message2005 - Summer UpdateAs usual, it has been an extremely eventful summer for the Board of the Lakeshore Chapter who have been busy developing goals & strategies, attending regional meetings, planning for the Global Congress and selecting the operational VPs and AVPs to help run our day-to-day activities. In the quest to attain Chapter maturity, we have developed a framework for planning for subsequent years and, for the first time, provided chapter and operational training to the Board members as well as the Operational VPs and AVPs. The Board conducted its annual planning in July 2005 and defined a goal of improving our processes and products as well as providing a smooth transition to the Operations team. This goal will ensure that our support functions will be highly effective in sustaining the significant growth the Chapter has experienced, and that we are appropriately positioned for future growth. In support of this goal, the Board has decided to continue enhancing the following three support functional areas.
The new Marketing Functional Area Committee will be playing a major role in the introduction of new Chapter products and services by using an approach that is in aligned to the needs of our members and the community at large. They will also help promote the chapter and PMI to the community at large. We will also be introducing the following new products in the Professional Development area:
As in previous years, to help the Chapter achieve its goals, we would like to invite volunteers to participate - please keep an eye on our Chapter Bulletin Board forums online for volunteer opportunities.
