President's Message
2005 - Winter Update
This year the Chapter is transitioning to a new organizational structure to attain the Chapter's goals and objectives.
Thanks to an excellent response to our request for volunteers from the membership once again, we are on the way to completing a slew of projects aimed at improving our service delivery.
We have assigned resources to most of the projects. Here is a snapshot of progress on these projects:
- Organizational Re-structuring - We have formed seven Functional Area Committees (FAC) and each has been assigned a Vice-President and Assistant Vice-President (as well as two Directors from the Board serving as advisors). The FACs are learning about the operations of the functional area.
- Finance - We have developed budgeting and reporting templates and are developing the first annual budget based on past spending patterns and emerging projects and we have started to develop a procedures manual to document our processes
- Marketing - We have developed a Chapter brochure and the FAC is developing a complete package of brochures and presentations to better promote the Chapter to organizations
- Professional Development - Four Saturday continuing education sessions and two one-day special Project Management courses will be provided to the Chapter members on an annual basis.
- Continuous Improvement - The Continuous Improvement FAC is reviewing our key Chapter functional processes and will be documenting and improving one of these processes.
I am pleased to announce that IIL Canada will be our principal sponsor once again for the year 2005-2006. I also want to thank all our sponsors who have supported us during the past year.
It's that time of the year to enjoy the festive season, to have fun and to continue to implement our initiatives in the new year!
Seasons greetings to everyone!
Sincerely,
Ram Sriram, CMC, PMP
